MOJAVE SUNRISE is the story of Orville Burton. Abandoned by his single mother while still a teenager, Orville must find his own way through life. His odyssey is one of the most shocking in modern storytelling. A murderer at age 17. A war hero during one of the bloodiest battles of the Iraq conflict. An extremist who plots a modern civil war to overthrow the United States government. Yet also a faithful husband and father. Orville’s story—and his ultimate fate—will resonate with anyone who has lived through our nation’s recent tumultuous history.
