The Twentynine Palms Book Festival returns November 13-15 2025
Diagnosed with ADHD in her sixties, Heidi Dellafera Eagleton proved her high school guidance counselors wrong — they told her she wasn’t college material because of lousy SAT scores. She is a former attorney and real estate developer with a multidisciplinary background in law, architecture, and construction, holding an AA, BA, JD, and M.Arch. At age 71, she became a licensed Zumba instructor embodying her belief that growth, movement, resilience, and connection are possible at every stage of life—especially as we age.
Her memoir, Embracing Your Rollercoaster: Navigating ADHD Across a Lifetime, Challenges and Triumphs (October 2026), explores the hidden costs and unexpected strengths of a full lifespan with ADHD. She tells her personal story shining a light on an overlooked population—particularly women—who face new and more complex challenges living and aging with ADHD. Her award-winning children’s chapter books in the “Maddie’s Tails” series draw on her childhood growing up before ADHD even had a name.
She combines analytical depth with creative reinvention as a speaker and a writer. She led a Peer Group Discussion, Finding Answers, Aging with ADHD, at the 2024 International Conference on ADHD and has been a featured guest on numerous podcasts.
