Rockin' for Joshua Tree 2000 Poster
ROCKIN’ FOR Joshua Tree 2000 concert, was launched by Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Eric Burdon.
The ROCKIN' FOR Joshua Tree 2000 concert was organized to support the fight against the Eagle Mountain MegaDump project. From 1994 to 2014, a group of activists battled against this project, which was slated to be the largest MegaDump in the world.
The Rockin for Joshua Tree event was a turning point in this battle, symbolizing decades of effort to defeat the proposed 700 million ton Eagle Mountain MegaDump planned for land adjacent to Joshua Tree National Park. The poster for the event was designed and screen printed in Joshua Tree, specifically for this cause.
The poster was created by Desert Activist and Fine Art Screen Printer DAVI HICK, based in Joshua Tree.
This poster is an 8-color screen print, including metallic copper. David is a specialist in manually separating colors for printing, a process that requires skill and expertise to ensure that each color is accurately represented and properly aligned when printing. This process is not automated or computerized.
