More and more Angelenos drive to the area for weekends. Demand for short-term rentals surged by 54 percent between 2019 and 2021, making the Joshua Tree area one of the top two fastest-growing markets in California and one of the top 25 fastest-growing markets in the United States, 

The Palm Springs crowd is pretty different than the High Desert one (more luxury-oriented.) However, due to the opening of trendy restauraurants and stores in the High Desert, people from Palm Spring are more and more showing up.

Many international or national visitors who are on a tour, visiting for instance Vegas or the Death Valley, often make a stop in the area. They either want to discover the Joshua Tree Park, or don’t want to miss the “High Desert Boho” trend they’ve heard about.
